Nursing homes are there to provide competent, skilled and empathetic care. Residents of any nursing home should be treated as individuals with privacy, dignity and respect. These are the principles that have been at the heart of the Randolph Hill Group as it grows from strength to strength in Scotland.
Many elderly individuals like to remain as active and sociable as they can. Communal elements such as shared public space for leisure and dining are vital for maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle. As well as expert residential care, actively encouraging family and friends to visit and become involved in some of the resident activities creates a wider communal spirit.
One group of homes within Scotland found to provide the best of care for all of its residents is the Randolph Hill Group. In a market where the quality of care is fundamental to the quality of life, The Randolph Hill Groups reputation as a quality health care provider has blossomed. Their new home in Dunblane is purpose built and will soon be followed by a new build home in Edinburgh’s Sighthill area.
The new £4million Randolph Hill Nursing Home, situated in former grounds of Dunblane Hydro, has 60 individual rooms with en-suite facilities, a secure garden for residents and six conservatories. Randolph Hill Nursing Home replaces the company’s Victorian building on Leewood Road which opened in the 1980s and all residents have chosen to transfer to the new home where they have had their individual needs catered for.
Clare Allan, Manager of Randolph Hill Nursing Home, said: “The new home is wonderful for our residents and they are adapting well to their new surroundings. Each resident has their own room and we have worked very hard to provide the highest standard of care and facilities for our residents.”
The company spent six years trying to find a suitable site for the new home in Dunblane which is now, the only purpose-built modern care home in the town. The new home not only increases facilities for elderly people who need care in Dunblane, it also employs around 50 people and is part of the local economy, using local trade wherever possible.
Lewis Macdonald MSP, Deputy Minister for Health and Community Care, said: “The Scottish Executive is committed to driving up the quality of care services provided to our older people. We have invested significant sums of money in the independent care home sector. This funding is encouraging organisations, both large and small, to invest in the sector, creating new, modern, purpose built facilities such as Randolph Hill.”
